The medical fitout at Seaview Clinic has been a real team effort with Dr Anthony Cadden being involved in the space and layout planning stage of the project. This medical fitout is an example of Cyclo allowing a client to drive the design process while we provide costing, design, build options and ensure compliance to the BCA and base building requirements.
The location in the new Wollongong Private Hospital provided some challenges as well as amazing opportunities but the result has been worth the journey for all involved. From a patient’s perspective the location is conveniently located within a highly sophisticated modern hospital with easy parking, access and fantastic views.
These same views – of the Illawarra coast, escarpment and Wollongong CDB – required some real layout solutions as three sides of the Tenancy are windows with beautiful views. The challenge was to maximise these at every point and the outcome has resulted in the waiting area and all 5 consulting rooms having breath taking views for the patients and staff. Services also required a high level of base building input to a tight time frame while the hospital was still in building phase. We received access early November and the opening day was January 18.
Cyclo managed the BCA compliance, base building integration, detailed drawings as well as all aspects of the fitout including, furniture, blinds, acoustic upgrades and signage. Congratulations to Dr Cadden on achieving a great workplace and also a big thank you to Peter Vaughan – our site manager who worked most days over Christmas to make this happen on time.
